These timers are made of antique parts that are 30 to over 100 years old. The wood “bobbins” were used in textile mills throughout the UK from 1903 to 1971. They held the cotton, yard, or thread to spin fabric.
The labels on these (exluding the 503BB) were printed in New York in 1917 -- They were found inside of an old cupboard in a mill which manufactured sewing thread at Leek, Derbyshire. Each original item was disassembled then reassembled to include the hourglass.
